Moscow court to consider 3 bln rbl Rosneft suit to RBC on Nov 11
MOSCOW, Oct 3 (PRIME) -- The Moscow Arbitration Court will consider a 3.1 billion ruble suit filed by oil major Rosneft against channel RBC-TV and BusinessPress, the founder of media holding RBC, on November 11, as follows from a court statement published on Monday.
Several reporters of the holding, Konstantin Bochkaryov, Timofei Dzyadko, Lyudmila Podobedova and Maxim Tovkailo, were listed as co-defendants in the case.
Rosneft demands the court recognize an article published in the newspaper RBC on April 11, where sources said that CEO of Rosneft Igor Sechin had asked the government to protect the company from a possible stake increase by BP in case of Rosneft privatization, inconsistent with the reality. The company also demands a compensation for harm to its reputation.
According to an earlier statement by Rosneft spokesman Mikhail Leontyev, the company does not rule out a peaceful agreement with the media holding.
